THE NEW GRADE
A voice can be heard through the interior shell of the breaker. Shifting and modulating as it desperately calls, the interior(s) ignore the thumping sound waves from the outside. The audio levels of a voice of a man to them is as loud as standing behind the engine of a speeding jet. SR-71 Blackbird. The Interior(s) are stationary, silent as miniature lightning currents sparkle along their collective body. Ignoring the voice’s calls.
“Hurry my good man!” The dark cloaked pilot thought to himself as he rapidly presses the button to call into the facility. There was much to repair on today’s assignment. Duct tape was to be fitted along the cardboard rods, dish bowls to be attached to the aluminum cross braces, Magnetic fluid to coat the labels. The carpet base still hasn’t been picked up by the nearby dumpster either. And let’s not forget the tedious drilling and bolting of the The New Grade, which is difficult to do with inefficient tools.
The frustrated pilot scratched the back of his head. His crusted fingernails raking the silver off his dirty scalp. The breaker was either damaged or the interior(s) could be paying him no mind. A buzzing static could be heard from the breaker, indicating that they were online, sitting along side by side to be activated. The pilot looked up to the top of the gate in front of him to gauge the height. Climbing over would be quite the task for his withered body, but it was either risking a few broken ribs or to lose his only source of income. The choice was obvious.
